Concrete Foundations
We install concrete foundations designed for mountain construction, including crawlspace foundations, walk-out basements, traditional solid-poured foundation walls and insulated concrete form (ICF) systems such as Fox Blocks. Trust Peak DirtWorks to bring your plans to life.
Concrete Flatwork
Our concrete flatwork services include slabs, pads, and structural flatwork. We work with local suppliers and handle our own prep work so you can be sure your project starts with a solid base.
Earthmoving and Site Preparation
When required, we provide concrete removal and site preparation as part of a larger excavation or rebuild project. This ensures existing materials are removed safely and sites are properly prepared for new construction.
Do concrete foundations require permits in Teller County? Park County?
Yes. In Teller County, all foundations over 250sf require a permit. For buildings over 750sf, or if living space, Engineering is required. For slabs under 750sf, Peak DirtWorks can provide a general detail which can be used for permitting.
In Park County, all accessory structures require a permit, regardless of size.
Ultimately, requirements vary by project scope, manufacturer and location, and we help coordinate compliance as part of the process.
Are concrete foundations different in mountain terrain?
Yes. Mountain foundations often require additional planning due to rocky soils, slope conditions, frost depth, drainage, and limited access. Each site is evaluated individually before construction begins.
We also strongly recommend working with a local engineer familiar with Teller and Park County conditions. Mountain soils in this area are typically rocky and stable, which can differ significantly from sandy or clay-heavy regions. Engineers who regularly work locally are better positioned to design foundations appropriately for these conditions without unnecessary overdesign.
